Spain's Costa Cálida is a destination that promises unforgettable experiences. With its idyllic climate and cultural diversity, this coastal region attracts visitors from all over the world. In this article, from Rental Olé we take you on a journey through five municipalities that are true jewels of the Costa Cálida and are a must when you are in the area: Torrevieja, Orihuela, El Mojón, La Manga del Mar Menor and Bullas.

Torrevieja

Torrevieja is synonymous with fun in the sun. This municipality is famous for its extensive fine sandy beaches and first class tourist resorts. The beaches of Torrevieja, such as La Mata, Los Náufragos, Los Locos and El Cura, offer you with complete services, dunes and rich vegetation. In addition, here you can also enjoy the beauty of the Lagunas de Mata and Torrevieja, which are part of a protected natural park and offer a visual spectacle with their pink and green tones.

Torrevieja, on the other hand, is famous for its lively promenade, where you can find food and entertainment at every corner. Do not forget to visit the historic quarter and admire the architecture of the Iglesia Parroquial del Sagrado Corazón.

If you want to fully enjoy Torrevieja, our Salinas Apartment, in the Club Salino de Torrevieja, just a stone's throw from the Laguna Rosa de Torrevieja.

This flat is the ideal place for a holiday with family or friends. With capacity for four people, it offers two elegantly decorated bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and has a large garden with furniture and barbecue that allows you to enjoy the warm summer evenings outdoors. There is also a communal swimming pool for cooling off and relaxing.

Spend a comfortable and relaxing holiday in Torrevieja, with all the comforts and a charming environment.

Orihuela

Orihuela has a rich historical heritage. Stroll through its cobbled streets and discover an architectural legacy of Gothic churches, Renaissance palaces and museums that tell the story of times gone by. It is with good reason that its historic centre was declared a Historic-Artistic Monumental Site in 1969.

No less impressive is its coastline, which offers a refreshing contrast of quiet beaches and hidden coves, perfect for those seeking a retreat by the sea. We especially recommend the Cala Mosca and Playa Vistamar for a perfect day at the beach.

If you want to spend a few perfect days in Orihuela, our Costa de la Calma Apartment is ideal. Located 200 metres from the Vistamar beach in Campoamor, it has the best location for a few days of sun and beach.

This flat has capacity for 4 people, a cosy living room and a balcony overlooking the garden. Ideal for relaxing after a day at the beach.

El Mojón

Small and charming, El Mojón is a hidden treasure on the Costa Calida, a charming coastal enclave on the border between Alicante and Murcia. This picturesque corner is famous for its 465-metre-long beach, ideal for enjoying the sun and nature. It is bordered to the south by the Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar Natural Park, an 856 hectare wetland that offers a natural spectacle of salt flats, beaches, and dunes.

And is that El Mojón is not only a perfect place to relax on its promenade or explore the dunes and pine forests by bike, but it is also a sanctuary for wildlife. In late summer, pink flamingos grace the landscape, along with a variety of birds such as grebes and grey herons.

To enjoy the peace and quiet of El Mojón, there is nothing better than our Alaska Apartment. Only 50 metres from the beach of El Mojón and 2 minutes from the famous Restaurant-Pub The Corner.

This flat can accommodate up to 6 people, has a spacious living room and a private patio perfect for enjoying the sun, reading or having a barbecue.

La Manga del Mar Menor

In addition to a municipality, La Manga del Mar Menor is a geographical marvel that stretches for some 24 km, from Cabo de Palos to Punta del Mojón, delineating the Mar Menor, a salt lagoon that is an emblem of tourism on the Murcian coast. Originally an open bay, La Manga was formed by the accumulation of sands and sediments between volcanic reefs, creating an isthmus of dunes and wild vegetation flanked by two seas: the vibrant Mediterranean and the calm Mar Menor.

With a width ranging from 200 meters to 1.5 km, La Manga is a unique strip of land, criss-crossed by natural channels known as 'golas', which allow the flow of Mediterranean waters into the lagoon. Its warm, shallow waters are ideal for sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing.

If you want to know one of the most unique places in the Spanish geography, we recommend our Apartmento El Faro, just 1-min walk from Playa Ensenada del Esparto.

You will have a covered terrace to enjoy outdoor meals, a fully equipped kitchen, parking and access to the communal swimming pool.

Bullas

Discover Bullas, a destination in the Region of Murcia that immerses you in the history and culture of wine. With more than 8,200 hectares, this mountainous municipality is home to a wine heritage dating back to Roman times, evidenced by the “Niño de las Uvas” (Child of the Grapes) in the village of Los Cantos.

The Bullas Wine Route, part of the Wine Routes of Spain since 2007, is an open experience that highlights the diversity of the municipality through historic and modern wineries and vineyard landscapes. The Wine Museum, in a 19th century winery, is the heart of this route, showing the evolution of Bullas wines, protected under the Denomination of Origin. And, beyond wine, Bullas invites you to explore its natural spaces such as the Salto del Usero, enjoy the local street market “El Zacatín”, and immerse yourself in its festivities and traditions.

If you want to taste the best wines and enjoy the nature of Bullas, La Casita de Bullas is an excellent starting point. With capacity for up to 10 people, this modern house is the best choice for families and groups of friends.

Located in a rural setting, close to the Salto del Usero, just 25 minutes on foot and 5 minutes by car. Discover waterfalls, rocks and natural pools in this unique spot.

Enjoy the terrace with barbecue and heated swimming pool, the garden or the games room with table football and darts.
